Why bother forgiving those who hurt you most?

http://www.makaiqueen.com

Forgiving your best friend might be easy but forgiving someone who spews hate at you, gossips about you, tries to harm you….not so easy. Why bother?

Holding on to resentment and failing to forgive keeps you in spiritual bondage to the person who is hurting you. Resentment and anger…

Life After Death?

What happens to us when we die?  For many, that is a question of faith with very definitive answers.  For others, it is a mystery subject to debate and speculation.  There are people who claim to know exactly what happens when we die via near-death experiences.  When clinically dead, they visit the other side,…

Why these unwelcome guests? ~ Hurricane Irene

Why these unwelcome guests? ~  Hurricane Irene

Is it me? I can’t believe what’s happening these days and it’s one thing after another. I’ve just spent a wonderful ten days holiday in beautiful Turkey; great food, amazing scenery and some of the kindest and friendliest people I’ve ever met. But I come back home and…

Sometimes, I’m a coward as I dread switching on the news.

What Price Life?

What Price Life?

Some of you know I live in Cyprus, and many will have heard of Monday’s horrific explosion that literally rocked our small island at the eastern end of the Mediterranean.

The explosion occurred when munitions, seized in 2009 from an Iranian shipment to Syria, apparently exploded when a wildfire reached a military base. The explosion caused loss of life and dreadful…

My Author Mastermind Interview Series~This Week Traci Hohenstein

Hi there!  Welcome to another of my blog posts and a long overdue interview with Traci Hohenstein.

So far July has kicked in with a bang; book sales appear to be holding up for the majority of us authors, which augers well for some bumper reading on holiday!

June was a quieter month for me with some drop in sales - but overall revenue held - I can afford to eat this month! I put my price up (marginally) on… Continue

'The Dance of the Pheasodile' (Tim Roux) - reviewed by Stuart Aken

Stuart Aken was kind enough to read and review my recent 'The Dance of the Pheasodile'. In turn, I read his 'Breaking Faith' which is a thoroughly intriguing, raunchy and exciting read with a breakneck ending.

This is what Stuart said about my book ( have made no changes to his review):

Sometimes a book is so unusual it defies categorisation. This is such a… Continue

Review of 'Breaking Faith' by Stuart Aken

One of the great pleasures of reading indie authors is that they are often literary Luddites, exuberantly smashing the commercial frameworks imposed on their more industrially-produced cousins, replacing them with a more zestful, fresh, individual and – might I say – compelling approach to their work.

It is not that they do not recognise as well as anyone the existence of the rules and formulae drawn up to govern the structure,… Continue

Jake the Snake on a little Borders tour...

Sorry, I have to do it! It's a Brag Blog! :)

I think I'm on an unofficial Borders tour with my Jake the Snake book. It all began about two weeks ago with the Borders Express at my (as Jake the Snake would say) "favoritest" mall in Greensburg, PA. 9 books were sold. One lady even came back at the end of the book signing to buy a second copy for a gift because she took it home, read it, and thought it was so fun she had to get another copy!!! That's always very reassuring! This week,… Continue

Interview with Author Anthony S. Policastro about his thriller, Absence of Faith

Carl Lee - That would leave the playing field wide-open. How did you nail down a direction for the plot?

"The characters. I created sets of characters - a doctor and his wife and just the opposite, a young girl and her new boyfriend who are laid back, go with the flow types. The doctor has doubts about his confidence and what he really believes in; the young girl is strong-willed and searching for herself. Her boyfriend is pure… Continue
