Meander Scar - a review

Meander Scar won last year’s ‘Grace Award’ for women’s fiction and now I know why. This book was nothing short of wonderful. Author Lisa Lickel has crafted an unorthodox romance fraught with complications and intrigue that draws the reader in almost immediately and keeps you guessing right until the very last page.

Ann Ballard is an older woman caught in emotional limbo. Her husband went missing years earlier without a trace. He left behind a thriving business…

My Review of Still Alice by Lisa Genova

I just finished reading "Still Alice" by Lisa Genova and would like to share my thoughts about it with all of you. This is not the kind of book that I normally read but when I joined our library's monthly book club this was one of our books.

This book really came at a good time for me since it is a story about Alzheimer's Disease and my own mother has it. I know…

Bitten by Books gives Pandora's Hope 4.5 "Tombstones."

From the review:

The crew of the Pandora’s Hope returns for a sequel to their brilliant first outing, Lust in Space. The wonderful cast returns, mostly in its entirety, from the first book, and this sequel keeps up the strong pace of their first set of adventures. I have to admit that this is one of the most entertaining series I review, and I was really excited to find that there was a sequel to Lust in Space. I am a total sucker for a good…

Shanghai Girls by Lisa See

I loved this book! It it totally a 4 Peaches book! The book tells the story of two Chinese sisters in pre-war time Shanghai. The girls go from reasonably wealthy, glamorous, and carefree life of a couple of party girls to wise, worldly, and learned women of the world after the war.

I loved the character of Pearl and her "Dragon" personality. She is the main focus of the book and it is told from her perspective. She is a really compelling character and you find yourself wrapped up in… Continue
