This post is all about me! Im going to tell you what I did in 2010 with my writing and my half educated, exconvict self. Firstly, I learned a bit of .html I started the year clueless. I couldnt even type. Now 4 novels and 5 short stories later, I have two titles listed as top 10 indie fantasy novels of 2010 by Fantasy Book Critic (the leading fantasy review site on the net.)The same two titles were listed in Publishers Weekly's Dec, 20th Indie Select Issue. One of the…

I have seen twenty links to go look at book trailers on Twitter and Facebook and the other usual haunts. These trailers are cool, but are you selling a movie? Or are you selling a book that is so bad that it needs a gimmick to get people to buy it?
I have a 230 page preview of my largest book, and a 100 page preview of my other novel. And a FREE novella. People who really want to read a book can start mine for free and decide well before they get into its depth if they want to…

Ok the KNDaily thing covered its own cost. But I was unpleased that my book was placed below a Kindle case. My title wasn't even on the screen on Facebook yet my cash was sponsoring the site that day. Like I said I sold enough to make the cost back and garnered some basically free coverage, but all in all it was a Blah, kind of thing. It was a Sunday, a holiday weekend, and my book wasn't even on the Facebook screen. Todays title was right there on top. It makes me wonder...lol Well I'll be…

I wrote Ms. Duane to ask her if she had a problem with my usage of the title "The Sword and the Dragon" This was a few weeks ago, just after I learned that she existed and her book was similar. I also asked her to read mine and offer suggestions. This is what I got back.......
Dear M.R.,
Thanks for your note.
First of all: it's kind of you to think of me regarding the similarity of titles, but you needn't have been concerned. Titles aren't copyrightable, and in…

Well since this is the first Rant I'll keep it short.
In this day and age there is no reason to not have a "Standard" format for all ebooks. Users of whatever device, or computer should be able to print their own hard copy if they want it. I understand the nature of competition, but do we have to have so many formats? "Print" form is on a decline. It will never go away, but it will be a slow transition. We are on the cusp of a breakthrough in the digital revolution. This…
