One Good Man Book Barrage and Give away

Book Barrage, Give away, Excerpt and Interview with author Marie McGaha about her new book 'One Good Man'

Allison Hamstead thought it was love. Finally, after all the years alone, someone loved her in spite of the fact she was fat! Not that her size had ever kept her from being successful, but it had kept her far from personal relationships. She’d heard all of the fat jokes ever told, all of the things people in her office said behind her back, and she didn’t miss not having a…

Easter Reads for Kids: Last One in Is A Rotten Egg! by Diane De Groat

Each time I read one of these “Gilbert and friends” books, I’m always amazed how a children’s writer can give such a lovable characterization to an opossum – one of the least friendly looking creatures. In this book, once again Gilbert is showing his friends what it means to be a true friend. As the book deals with the traditional yearly Easter egg hunt, the…

HOW TO BE GOOD .....except this was really bad ......

Nick Hornby is a successful novelist and celebrated author . Many of his books are turned into movies so when I cut through the hype and hysteria what did I discover : A crawling mass of staid indifference and head numbing mediocrity with a capital M. Was I reading it right had I missed something were there hidden clues of genius a la C. S. lewis no for the main part a yawn fest from cover to cover . I don't need action packed drama or suicide bids or blood and bang but I need an engaging story… Continue

Poem: For Just One Day

For just one day, I'd like to see

a tour of God's throne room and His glassy sea.

Or perhaps to take a leisurely stroll

among heavenly streets made from purest gold.

Maybe I'd glimpse the pearly gates,

to find out who is really standing in wait.

Another option would be to find

the stately mansion that's eventually mine.

But seeing the Savior from afar

and observing the glory of the Morning Star,

would focus my attention solely on Him

and… Continue
