I'm not going to complain about the 300 days of sunshine we typically get each year in St. George, Utah, but the downside is that there isn't much of a change of seasons. My favorite time of year is Autumn and I miss the beautiful fall colors I grew up with in my hometown of Boulder, Colorado. To compensate, I have found new ways to celebrate the seasons. Novels and audiobooks are an excellent way to get me in the mood for whatever holiday is on tap.

I'm Just the Writer
Some Writers Have Always Felt Unappreciated in Hollywood.
Writers are often are greatly surprised or disappointed by how their work is changed when it is adapted for the big screen. When Irwin Shaw’s World War II novel The Young Lions was shot in Paris in 1958, Marlon Brando played the Nazi character. Ever the method actor, Brando provoked uproar by strutting around town in his SS uniform, even going into restaurants to dine. The thirty three year old star…

Fun Friday with Susan Ricci
As part of the ongoing Indie Writers Unite Blog Tour, my next guest is Susan Ricci. Instead of doing the usual—an interview—Susan gracefully agreed for a guest blog. Susan is really funny. I follow her posts on IWU and I find myself many times with a big smile on my face or burst out laughing.

Have a Beer with Fear
The original intent of this entry was to discuss my greatest writing fear. This is a concept that's been on my plate for over a month now, and the problem that I arrived at as I turned this over in my head was that it was nearly impossible to narrow it down.
