Story Time is a revised version of a previous book titled The Story Book. In this volume only the top seven screenplays of my 27 script collection are included. These are the stories that made the rounds in national and international screenplay competitions, as far as the finals. Both Saber-Toothed Cat and Storm Shadows made the finals in two popular script contests. The five others included here made it as far as the semi-finals.

Recently, in the German city of Düsseldorf, a 74-year-old official was struck in the carotid artery by a javelin during an athletics competition. ‘Some of the spectators were in shock and needed psychological counselling.’
This made me think of the Romans: three Roman legions were overpowered in the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest. Those Romans could have done with a bit of psychological counselling, but I very much doubt if there was any adequate counselling for traumatised…

This is an action packed short-novel, aimed primarily at a female audience. I actually enjoyed it very much, despite my genitalia. The plot revolves around a fairly classic shake-down for…

Flowers For Algernon By Daniel Keyes
Overall Rating : A Man’s Odyssey that pulls so many heart strings
Okay if you have been reading my other smoothie reviews then you know I’m a sucker for science fiction. Or importantly classic science fiction. If you haven’t notice this by now, go back and read my Subterranean…

The bus station was more crowded and dirty than she remembered as Melissa waited in line to get her ticket home for the first time in three years. It was spring break and she avoided making this trip for as long as possible. "I don't know what's worse, being knee deep in lab assignments or dealing with mom." Melissa thought. With her duffel…

Bob picked up the pace as he passed the coffee shop on his early morning run. You could set your watch by his daily routine as he dashed down the sidewalk. At the small outdoor cafe' patrons would smile and wish him a good morning as he passed. It was all he could do to grin and nod politely while huffing and puffing with the…

Memoirs Of An Invisible Man By H.F. Saint
I get my books from odd places. Garage sales, give a ways, bargain bins, and sometimes out of trash can at my friends house. (He has no tastes in books and often throw good ones away) I grab books that seem interesting, providing an new concept or have tons of potential. I prefer not to join the waves of current fans of big writers stalking their every move. I mean, these guys that no one hears of are sometimes better than JK Rowling, or…

When I read the publisher’s short description for Accidents of Providence by Stacia M. Brown, I knew I had to get my hands on an advance readers’ copy. This historical novel sounded perfect for a review around Valentine’s Day. It’s a historical novel that combines romance with a bit of mystery, politics and 17th century British courtroom drama.
Stacia M. Brown’s idea for Accidents of Providence came to her while…

The 70th anniversary of the Fall of Bataan will be on April 9, 2012. Not too many people are aware of this tragic event in our history. Four months after Pearl Harbor, around 75,000 Filipino and American soldiers were forced to surrender on the peninsula of Bataan in the Philippines on April 9, 1942 under the leadership of General Jonathan Wainwright. Most of the men were emaciated and sick. No provisions were made for transport so the prisoners were forced to march some 60 miles…

The Peruvian-Venezuelan author Fernando Sobenes will publish his novel "The Evil Visitor," a shocking story of terror that without a doubt will strike fear into the reader. It is an exciting story and tackles the darkest and most sinister aspects of human beings; it is a work that once started, cannot be put down.
The story begins in northern Kuwait in 1991 during the Persian Gulf War. Peter Donovan,…
