First Chapter of But a Walking Shadow- draft

Chapter One

‘O mother; mother! What have you done?  Behold, the heavens do ope, the gods look down, and this unnatural scene they laugh at.’

Coriolanus Act 5 Sc 3

It came again. How could I have thought that it had gone forever?  Gasping for air I croaked,

‘Help me, help me.’   The words crackled from my lips as bony fingers tightened on my throat, choking me, as I struggled to breathe.  It was as if my eyes sealed were glued…

first 10 pages of The Keeper

Here is a sample of The Keeper. Not a lot of action in the first 10 pages but next I will blog an excerpt from a more action packed portion.

Chapter 1 Ultimatum

I sat there reading the words and their meanings over and over again, attempting to convince myself that I was actually studying and that my efforts were not going to be fruitless, but I…

Your Book Cover: What Kind of First Impression Does It Make?

I was just reading a blog where a lady said she was ashamed to admit

she tends to ignore books with amateurish covers even though she

suspects some of the stories inside those covers might be pretty good.

As a book cover designer (www.bookcoversandvideos.webs.com) I can tell you no one should feel guilty about judging a book by its cover.

Why?

Because humans are, by nature,… Continue

Hi All!

I am so excited to join this group of fellow readers, promoters of reading, authors, publishers, and the rest!

The internet can be such a blessing to bring together like minded individuals.

I am a parent of 3 young children ages 7, 5, and 2. I absolutely love sharing my love of reading with them. Even at age 2 I am laying the groundwork for reading comprehension with my little guy. There are so many literacy best practices that we must help our children with from… Continue

KND results...... Blah! But not horribly so.

Ok the KNDaily thing covered its own cost. But I was unpleased that my book was placed below a Kindle case. My title wasn't even on the screen on Facebook yet my cash was sponsoring the site that day. Like I said I sold enough to make the cost back and garnered some basically free coverage, but all in all it was a Blah, kind of thing. It was a Sunday, a holiday weekend, and my book wasn't even on the Facebook screen. Todays title was right there on top. It makes me wonder...lol Well I'll be…
