The Siren by Tiffany Reisz

Take one book editor (male) with demons from a guilty marriage, add one (female) author who is considered the queen of erotica running from demons of her own. Mix until there are no lumps. Fold in a younger (male) assistant who is hopelessly in love with the female. Put over high heat and watch the explosion.

That about sums up how I felt about this book. The BDSM scenes were intense as is the character of Soren – the demon who our female (Nora) is trying to put behind her by writing…

Writing, cancer and handling pain badly...

I've been away from writing for quite a while and it's something I  never intended on doing intentionally but life sometimes gets in the way of everything. Up until September last year I was happily traveling the world, carefree and happy to just be out of the bubble that I sometimes put myself in.

I took a huge risk last year when I quit my job and decided to take off to see the world. I wanted to…

The beginning of the end...

I’m currently working on my first novel. It’s actually my first draft of my first novel, even though I have edited it many, many, many times. It’s a scary process. I’ve written 287 pages of the novel and feel I am close to finishing the first draft but feel nowhere finished. I know it needs stripping back and I know it needs bulking up. I’m prepared to do this.…

All up in Smoke !!

It was a ding time, a very ding time indeed.

This happened during my time in Chennai, pretty recently. Most of my

team mates, corrections rather the entire office seemed to be surviving

on a diet of smokes and coffee. Every hour, damm it, every hour they

needed a fix, for good living or for leisure or for habit(or all !!). I

on the other hand had earned the nickname of Biscuit man (quite an

improvement over banana, I think).

Anyways, I had never… Continue

Who Is your Best Financial Consultant??

Managing personal finance is a skill, actually a very important skill, and hence can be learned like any other skill in this life. No body is born with this skill. Even the best financial managers who control the budgets of the biggest companies in the world can be bad at managing their personal finance if they have not been trained on. Did you know, for instance, that most of those who consider themselves experts in managing personal finance, including the humble author, have suffered a lot… Continue

Who Knows In the Dark?

Who Knows In the Dark?

Sometimes deep in the night, I wake, I wonder, am I the child or the adult?

Am I the father, the son or the grandson?

Who am I?

What age lies upon my shoulders?

What responsibility blankets me?

What relationships entangle and caress me?

Do I answer to Billy, Bill, William, Dad, PopPop or husband?

In the dark, why can’t I tell who I am?

Is my life a dream?

Is my dream my life?

Is the wet spot on the bed the… Continue
