For a little fun today, I’m participating in a blog hop, which is an interview with myself about my soon-to-be-published book and some fun trivia about myself. I hope you enjoy it!
I’m in the editing stage of my memoir – Chronicles of a Troubled Girl. It is a collection…Continue

In high school, my passion for writing grew. By the summer after graduation it was a possibility. Then I was blindsided by a MVA (motor vehicle accident) that changed the direction of my life. I lost sight of my…Continue

I can barely contain myself. I weighed myself this morning with the thought that I stayed the same weight over the past week – not because I hadn’t eaten well or exercised enough, but because I didn’t feel much different, and I don’t like to get my hopes up. I stepped on the scale and couldn’t believe the number. I had lost 4.2 lbs! Oh my gosh, I was so happy.
I’ve now lost 74 lbs since April 20th, 2012 and I’ve gone from a size 3X/24 to a L/14. Even some of my larges and 14s are too…Continue

Hi everyone. Happy Friday! What are your weekend plans? If the hiking boots I ordered arrive, I’ll be going hiking, probably on Sunday. I’ll probably be power-walking on Saturday, because the weather has just been so nice and I’ve been really enjoying my power-walks. I reached my goal of a 15-minute mile! My usual walk is 1.9 miles. I’m thinking of taking the long route back home, instead of taking a side street, to make it two miles. At least I think it will be two miles; I’ll have to…Continue

My healthy lifestyle has been going great lately. Two weigh-ins ago, which was on the 15th, I lost 2.4 lbs in one week! I was very pleased. During my last weigh-in, which was yesterday, I stayed exactly the same. I’m not ecstatic, obviously, but I’m okay with it. I’m happy to either maintain my weight or lose weight on my weight loss journey. If I have no gains, I’m happy.
At home, I’ve added steel cut oats, couscous, and whole grain rice to my diet. I eat them in…Continue

I have exciting news to report about my weigh-in this morning. First, let me back up a bit… In March, I joined a Facebook’s Biggest Loser challenge, which started on April 1st. I submitted my starting weight on March 28th. Today was our first weigh-in (weigh-ins will be every Monday). Since submitting my starting weight (11 days ago), I have lost 3.6 lbs! I’m ecstatic. The four weeks prior, I had only lost 3 lbs. So losing 3.6 lbs in a week and a half is a huge…Continue

I had my last physical therapy appointment last Thursday in the late afternoon. A short time before my appointment I went to sit down in my living room chair and suddenly felt a very sharp pain in my left knee. Oh no, I thought. It happened again. So I went to PT in bad physical condition. In addition to my knee pain, my thigh was sore from power-walking the other day and my buttocks were sore from doing a lot of squats on the Power X-Train Biggest Loser DVD, so I was…Continue

I am pleased to announce that I have resumed working on my work-in-progress, Chronicles of a Troubled Girl. I’m in the editing and formatting stage. I worked on it for over two hours yesterday. What got me working on it again? Well, my husband mentioned my book, asking how I was coming along with it. I told him I had finished writing it and I just needed to edit it. That conversation created a spark in my mind that motivated me to resume working on it. I intend…Continue

Good morning, everyone.
I weighed in and measured myself today. For the last four weeks, I lost 3 pounds and 4 inches. Considering all the work I did during that time, I am not happy with the weight I lost. I decreased my calorie intake from 2,200+ calories a day to 1,900 (daily average). I burned 2,600 calories a day (on average), so my deficit was 700 calories a day. That would mean that I should have lost 1 1/2 pounds a week – a total of 6 pounds. I am very accurate and honest with…Continue

I just wanted to check in, because it’s been a while since my last post. I’ve been going to physical therapy one day a week, every week. My last appointment (yesterday) showed great progress. I’ve been practicing lunges and squats, using the bosu ball, trampoline, and balance boards, and my physical therapist said I looked really good, that my form was good and it looked like I did the exercises with ease. That was great to hear! I’ve noticed that I’m better at…Continue

Working in games and writing are two of his life passions and he considers himself fortunate to be able to indulge in them both. He lives in the east of England, enjoying starry skies in the flattest part of the country. I’ve made great progress with physical therapy and I’ve only been doing it for a couple of weeks. I have less knee pain in general, I’m able to crouch down to the floor, I can sit cross-legged without much discomfort, I can kneel on the floor and sit back on my feet without much tightness in my knees, and I can tell my legs are getting stronger from observing my ability level with the PT exercises. It feels great to be more flexible and stronger!
I’ve been taught new exercises and…Continue

I went to my first physical therapy appointment last week. It was a long wait in the waiting room, but when I got to see the physical therapist, she spent 45 minutes with me. She tested my strength, balance, and flexibility. I did pretty well, except for some weakness in one of the exercises. She evaluated me and wrote everything down in my chart. We discussed my past injuries, my fitness level, my recent setback (knee pain from overexerting myself), and my goals. I told her I want to…Continue
