How To Get A Book Published
How To Get Your Book Published!
Back when my company, Ari Publishing first opened and we were seeking authors, we were amazed when we received a considerable number of sample chapters containing clever ideas, engaging characters and interesting plot twists. Unfortunately, we had to reject them all.
You may ask, ‘If a book contains all those…

Hello, World!
I am pleased to announce that I have resumed working on my work-in-progress, Chronicles of a Troubled Girl. I’m in the editing and formatting stage. I worked on it for over two hours yesterday. What got me working on it again? Well, my husband mentioned my book, asking how I was coming along with it. I told him I had finished writing it and I just needed to edit it. That conversation created a spark in my mind that motivated me to resume working on it. I intend…

In part 2, I covered email communication with bloggers and how to maintain an effective “contacts” list in your email program. In today’s post, I will discuss: how to schedule blog tour posting dates with bloggers, how to keep track of the blogs and dates for the tour, how to network and market the start of the tour, how to begin the blog tour, and how to promote the blog tour.
The way that I scheduled posting dates for the tour, and had no conflicting dates where two people wanted…

The blog tour may be over, but there is still a lot going on! The day after the last day of the tour, I was interviewed on A Blue Million Books by Amy Metz. Thanks, Amy! I have another interview coming up on October 1st – can you believe it’s October already?! – and I will let you know when it’s posted.
I now need to get back to working on my works-in-progress. I…

My month-long blog tour is nearing its end. I feel like I’m losing a friend. It’s been fun seeing all the posts about Freelance Writing Guide and keeping in touch with the blog tour participants. It took me one month to organize the tour and one month for the tour itself, and now, it’s coming to a close. I will miss all of the fun I’ve had. I hope you’ve had fun too – learning readers’ opinions about my book, getting to read an excerpt from the book, learning more about me, and…

I am very busy with work right now and that makes me really happy. I feel a little taxed from being at the computer all day, but I’m really enjoying the work I’m doing.
The blog tour is going excellently! So far I have been at the “Writers and Readers” group at Goodreads for three days doing a Q&A session, at…

I'm really excited that I'm writing this blog and sharing about something so exciting. I am published. Over four years ago, something big happened and it changed me, it changed me so much it inspired me to write a book. This experience I had put me into an atmosphere of peace and tranquility, I call this atmosphere My "Bubble of serenity", but, how do I get back to my bubble. I don't have the money to take off whenever I want, and find peace every time life gets unbearable. Living paycheck…

A lot of self-published writers are turning to crowd-funding sites to raise the money they need for professional services or to offset other costs associated with self-publishing a book. Among the many sites out there, I had decided, a few months back, to try Kickstarter.com and raise the money I needed for a high-end editor.
I spent a lot of time comparing successfully funded campaigns against those that failed and found that two things matter most; presentation and motivation.…

Chapter One
‘O mother; mother! What have you done? Behold, the heavens do ope, the gods look down, and this unnatural scene they laugh at.’
Coriolanus Act 5 Sc 3
It came again. How could I have thought that it had gone forever? Gasping for air I croaked,
‘Help me, help me.’ The words crackled from my lips as bony fingers tightened on my throat, choking me, as I struggled to breathe. It was as if my eyes sealed were glued…

I'll huff and I'll puff...
Maybe it's because the 3 little pigs is my daughter's favorite story right now, but I spent the weekend with several other authors (some self-published and some published through big publishing houses) and now I can't get thoughts of the big bad wolf out of my head. Let's face it. We, as authors, are all just like these little piggies. We just want to make our own way in this world, set up houses for ourselves, and live happily ever after. But the big bad wolf of…

Hello from a new author who is new to Book Blogs!
Please bear with me as I'm learning as I go here. I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself to Book Blogs world. I'm a 32 year old Mom of two who has recently dipped my toe into the world of publishing. My first book, Convergence, was my first attempt at writing something original after spending a couple of years playing around with other people's characters and posting online in forums devoted to these kinds of works. The time I spent doing that was priceless as it helped so much…
