Radical Together By: David Platt

Radical Together By: David Platt

After reading David Platt's book "Radical", I was super excited to have the opportunity to read "Radical Together" as well.  In Radical, David…

SOUL PRINT by: Mark Batterson

The classic Christian statement of faith asserts that “The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.” Jesus’ Great Commission calls Christians to spread Jesus’ gospel by making disciples of Jesus whose transformed lives are used by God to make an impact for time and eternity. The display of that glory and the potential impact that results comes through Christ-followers who live their unique lives for those purposes. And that is often the…

Nearing Home by Billy Graham

All my life I was taught how to die as a Christian, but no one ever taught me how to live in the years before I die. I wish they had because I am an old man now, and believe me, it’s not easy,” so starts Billy Graham in his new book, Nearing Home. Lily Tomlin says, “If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself.” In some ways, Billy would agree and even more shows us how. With his authentic transparency about the impact of aging and grief,…

More Lost than Found

Jared Herd’s book More Lost Than Found is an explanation and different side of the Christian faith that isn’t very well communicated and sometimes neglected in the Church today. He looks to answer many issues of the Christian faith that the majority of young adults that have left the church are feeling today.

He covers topics such as what is pain, is it okay to question our faith, technology, embracing our Christian heritage and past, our bodies, why God gave us imaginations,…

Love, Sex, & Happily Ever After

Love, Se, and Happily Ever After
I have read parts of The Christian Atheist, and this was my first introduction to Craig Groeschel. So when I saw the opportunity to review Love, Sex, and Happily Ever After, I jumped right on it. I didn’t immediately dive in, but after a few false starts, I found it worthwhile, and it wasn’t until I finished that I figured out why I struggled with it.
The wildly successful founder of LifeChurch.tv and author of six books,…

THE LOVE & RESPECT EXPERIENCE

I would like to congratulate Dr. Eggerichs for creating a ‘simple’, low-key approach to a couples’ devotional. The thing that I found in The love & Respect Experience was that it wasn't just activities to complete together, lengthy study questions, or the presence of any ‘bare my soul’ conversation starters. While it is true that I am not married, I am engaged and have done many different things with my fiance. They all seem to be 'do this' or 'do…

DUG DOWN DEEP By: Joshua Harris

Harris delivers a powerful message in terms that even the person just beginning to walk in their Christian faith or people of below average intelligence could understand. I received this book to review and as I sat down to read it…I just knew it was going to be awesome.  I have to say I actually enjoyed reading most of this book.  Harris uses language that makes you feel as though he were sitting in front of you speaking.  He doesn’t sound “uppity” at… Continue

THE VOICE: NT REVISED & UPDATED

I am not exactly sure why, but I have always loved Bibles. If I see a Bible in a new translation, version, or that is in chronological order (such as THE NARRARATED BIBLE) I am more than likely going to get it. I am a Bible College Student, so the Bible is pretty high on my list of books to buy. So when I saw The Voice, I was extremely excited. To my surprise this wasnt' too bad.

I have been taught all about translations, versions, and their differences. I have many colleague's who… Continue

Our Last Great Hope: Awakening the Great Comission by: RRonnie Floyd

I just completed reading this book.  The basic premise of the book is this:  pay more attention to the Great Commission.  Whether it be through an awakening of your own personal purpose, the purpose of the church, parenting etc.... Floyd mixed in a good bit of personal stories to illustrate each of the points made throughout the book.  Floyd then goes on to challenge the reader to accept the urgency of the Great Commission.  He gives a few ways how we all can be apart of…

The Walk

This is an amazing book! This is one that all people interested in enhancing their spiritual walk with God should put right on their list of books to read. If you aren't familiar with Shaun Alexander, he is one guy you should get to know. If your a football fan, you may know his name as a former running-back for the Seattle Seahawks. This book was a quick read, with only 214 pages.

Shaun takes his readers on a journey, where there is primarily one purpose, which is…

BOOK REVIEW OF: THE QUOTABLE ROGUE BY MATT LEWIS

This book is an excellent book. This was my first introduction to Matt Lewis. I began this book as someone who didn't really know much about Sarah Palin. However, after reading it I realized that Palin is a down to earth, common woman who just wants to see her world become a better place.

Here is the scoop on this book:

Matt Lewis compiled hundreds of quotes of Palin from several different sources. Many of these were from television…

BOOK REVIEW OF: NO HE CAN'T by: Kevin McCullough

It doesn't matter if you are a supporter, or totally against President Obama, 'NO HE CAN'T' is a book you will definitely want to take a look at. This book is one that is well written. I don't necessarily agree with the approach that McCullough took in writing this book, but I do feel that he did his research, and he did respectfully show his findings.

This book is an outstandingly written, and will keep you thinking. I have always been one to enjoy learning about…
