Happy Birthday Eric Rohmann - October 26

When was a kid, I often thought that having a birthday around Christmas would have been the best.  However, I was quickly informed that it isn't all that great because there are only so many presents that your parents can afford. I now think if I were a kid again I would be wishing to have my birthday near Halloween.  By itself, Halloween has candy, costumes, and parades at school.  Then, if you could add presents, cake, and a birthday party it would be fabulous! Happy Birthday Ed Emberley - October 19

The house has been decorated with bats, jack o'lanterns, and spiderwebs for a few weeks.  Candy that was supposed to be for trick or treaters has dwindled to just a few bars.  Costumes have been finalized for the big day.  However, I still had one more trick or should I say treat to turn up the excitement for Halloween.

Happy Birthday David Shannon - October 5

This blog, for over a year, has been largely inspired by my daughter's love of picture books.  My 4-year-old son has participated in all the of birthday celebrations but he is now sparking ideas of his own with his sister off at school all day.

This week's celebration started when we had just rushed back to the house from dropping my daughter off at the bus stop and we were soaking wet.  This was the third day in a row of rain and I had run out of fun things to do in the house… Continue
