The wind is from the north today,
A bitter chill from far away,…

Hand in hand they swish and sway
Their fingers locked, entwined as if to pray.
I heard them first, their energy their sound,
A surge of colour, a rainbow with shopping bags abound.…

I always head for the automatic doors, it's just what I do, and perhaps like some of you I catch my own reflection in the reinforced glass wall, before the sound of the motor and that gentle reassuring hum, opening both sides, welcoming me in, in from the cold, the shopping mall the high altar and all without touching, without the need for the routine tugging on my jacket sleeve slipping off my shoulder, pulled down around my fingers to grapple with the steel bar…

From the moment the door latch fell, their lives would never be the same.
Archie Mullins wasn't built for 'trimming' or much else in truth. A suitcase in one hand and hope in the other, he clutched the ticket as if his life depended on it. Pulling on his britches he stepped over…

Is it me?!
Well ok maybe it is, after all I only have myself to blame, I didn't need to be there when the first print run of ‘Last Known Address’ turned up at the Publishers I could have been working, out promoting it, drinking coffee in a radio station or walking my dog, but in truth I wanted to be around when the first of the books arrived straight from the printers. Don't ask me why or what day it was, I can't remember, all I know was the first I knew about its imminent…

Here am I a grown up writing this blog on a laptop using the latest whizz bang technology (which incidentally I don't understand) to communicate a message in the hope that somehow it resonates in some way, touches you, challenges…
