And We Have Snow

As the sun rose this morning, I noticed something. There was white on the ground!

Now granted, it was only a dusting of snow. Kind of looked like an artist gently brushed their paint brush across my grass leaving plenty of green still beneath the white.…

Ian Pierce

As promised, this month I'm giving you a glimpse of Ian.

Thanks to Riane for finding the perfect picture of Ian. This is actor Peter Hermann.

Ian Pierce is the man most of my readers love to hate. He is the man Brianna lived with for… Continue

Men and Sex

Yes, that's right. It was another crazy day for me in book research land. lol. Today was all about how often men have sex.

First, I want to think all the ladies over on Facebook who gave input on this subject. What did writers do before they could just post a question in cyber space and receive an answer?

What surprised me was some of the responses I got. They went from as little as two days to five years. Two days? Do guys really have that little restraint?…

Welcome to my new blog

http://www.sherri-hayes.blogspot.com/

For those of you following my Finding Anna series blog, have no fear, I'm still continuing it. This new blog will have a slightly different and wider focus. I am hoping to include author interviews and maybe a few reviews of books I'm reading along the way.

If you are new to me as an author, let me take a moment to introduce myself and maybe explain the above. I am a romance author,…

It's Official!

A lot has been going on since I posted last week. First, and perhaps most important, I started work on Book 2 in my Finding Anna series. :) I know. I'm excited too.

I started work on chapter 3 on Thursday, but have had to put it on the back burner for a while until I am through the edits for my next romantic suspense novel, Behind Closed Doors, that comes out in January. Hopefully I'll be able to get a few worked while I'm going through my…

Brianna

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine turned out to be rather busy. My husband and I decided to put in a new electrical outlet. What started as a simple project turned out to be quite the ordeal and included me spending two hours lying on my stomach in a dark, claustrophobic crawl space beneath our house.
What does this have to do with writing you may ask? Well as it turned out, my body decided to have a little protest to my weekend activities. I woke up to a throbbing in…

Reader Question - Inspiration

This week I'm answering another readers question via formspring. If you have a question for me or one of my characters, hop over to formspring or leave it here.

Question from trilby97:

What inspired you to write this story; the BDSM path and freeing someone from it?

Great question, trilby97.

This story was an evolution of sorts. I'd been reading some BDSM stories on-line. That alone didn't really trigger the story making juices so to speak,… Continue

Stephan

This past weekend I was having a conversation with a few ladies over on Facebook. One of them happens to be another romance author. We were discussing two of her characters and how having pictures for those characters not only inspired her in her writing, but also was a big hit with her readers.

After a little consideration, I thought maybe it would be a good idea to find a picture for Stephan. Who doesn't like visuals, right?

So I started my search. Stephan is 24 years… Continue

Finding Anna Book 2

With Slave finally in the hands of readers, I've had quite a few questions regarding the next book. I thought this would be a good time to answer them. :)

The most common question I get is when will the next book be out. I know that I'm an indie author, but I'm going traditional on this. One book in this series will be released per year until it's done. So unfortunately, that means that book 2 will be available next year sometime in the summer months. I don't have an exact release… Continue

Reader Question - Slave

For this week's blog post, I'm answering another question posted on Formspring. If you haven't read Slave yet, proceed with caution. Both the question and answer this week contains spoilers.

***SPOILER ALERT***

Was the decision to not have Ian illicit orgasms from Brianna as part of his kink a conscious decision?

Thank you IslandWoman for the question.

When I began thinking about the world Brianna was coming from, the one in which… Continue

A Lunch Conversation

For those in the US, this past Sunday was Mother's Day. I knew I would not be able to make it over to see my mom that day, so I decided to take her out to lunch Thursday instead. We got to talking about my books, including Slave.

Fist of all, I have to say that my mother is a very conservative person, she always has been. The first time I brought up Slave months ago my mother's first question was to ask if it was set during the time of the civil war. Since then, I have had several… Continue

TWCS April/May Newsletter

The TWCS newsletter is out today, and this month I was asked to contribute. In the last news letter one of our editors gave their perspective on love scenes. This month, I provided an author's perspective.

Ladies Night

Thursday night was Mainstreet Treasures Ladies Night at Elchrist Winery, and I was their featured guest for the month of April. I’ve driven by the winery more times than I can count, but this was my first time inside.

The event was set to start at 6pm and, much to my annoyance, I was running late. I think I walked in the door with my boxes at 5:50. Thankfully, they had a table all ready for me, so all I had to do was set up my books, bookmarks, and the poster I had made. By…

The Best Laid Plans

No matter how much you plan, life always seems to throw you curve balls. Editing was supposed to start on Slave a few weeks ago, but as of today, we are still in a holding pattern, so I decided to spend some time on Behind Closed Doors. Winter will be here before I know it. lol.

It was a good goal, and I can’t say its been totally fruitless. I started on chapter six last week,…

Spring

April is here and so is the arm weather. I woken up a few mornings and haven't even needed a jacket. It feels wonderful after the winter we had.

So much has happened in the last two months and I figured this would be a good time to recap everything and bring you up to speed on what is happening with me.

At the beginning of March, my family took a huge blow as my father, who had been suffering with Parkinson’s disease, died. For about…

Hello

I thought maybe it would be a good idea in my first blog post to tell you all a little more about myself.

My husband and I live just outside of small town in Ohio with our four cats: Oscar, Willow, Darla, and Emily. We have no children so my cats are my babies. They enjoy laying on me at the most inopportune times, like when I’m trying to write.

Purple is my favorite color, although I tend to like most earth tones. My least favorite color is green. Having a…
