Read Across America

I like the idea of reading challenges so much! Although I have never lost my love of reading and books...the last few years, I have not always read for enjoyment as much as I would like. Thanks to all the book lover's across the world I have "met" and thanks for all the challenges! Here's one I am going to start working on:

50 states of mind

The United States is a union of 50 states. Let's "book around the states" and find at least one excellent book for each state of the union. The book should help us learn something ABOUT that state and not just be one written by somebody who lives there.

For Vermont - I read Water Witches by Chris Bohjalian. Full disclosure - I grew up in Vermont -- but I learned more about the area and some of the issues Vermont is facing.
