I made a little trip to Barnes & Noble today!

I picked up: The Virgin of Small Plains by Nancy Pickard and Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. They looked interesting! If you have read either one...please comment and tell me what you thought!

Then I had to go check out the YA section. Since I took my "Adolecent Literature" class in my college classes, I have adored YA lit! I believe that some of the best authors out there are YA writers. Anyway... as I was looking through the shelves, I notice the name of a book I had loved during that time. The Dark Angel by Meredith Ann Pierce ... and was sooooo excited! I picked it up as well as the other two (well actually just the third one, and ordered the second one - it was missing from the shelves LOL): A Gathering of Gargoyles and The Pearl of the Soul of the World.

It is gonna be a GREAT summer of reading!

Anyone else started their Summer Reading List?

Lisa :)

I haven't read Snow Flower, but sure have heard great things about it. In fact, I picked it up a couple weeks ago, but haven't got around to reading it yet. I've got about 30 books on slate for this summer...which is totally ridiculous since I'm about the slowest reader on earth. I'll probably be happy to finish half of them.

You asked what a 'meme' was. I'm lousy at explaining things, but put simply, it's just a set of questions or something similar that floats around from blog to blog with different people answering it. Okay, that really isn't very clear, is it? Here's a link where they explain it much better.

Have a great week, Lisa!

I've read Snow Flower. I kind of had to skim the feet binding section. That was tough to stomach. It was good book though, I enjoyed it, and I even got emotionally invested in it. I did find the writing to be a little choppy though.
