Anna and the french kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Let me just start by saying that I was not convinced that this book was a great as everyone was saying it was. I'm always for a good romance but not too keen on books that are strictly about romance. I figured it would be the typical boy meets girl, they fall for each other, end of story. But I told myself, don't dis it till you try it. And I'm beyond thrilled with myself for trying it out! It was not the typical "boy meets girl" story at all. I mean yes, they do meet, and yes they're attracted to each other but the story is so much more than that. There's unexpected twists and turns and I fell in love with the characters. The growth in Anna is phenomenal and I loved (and I do mean LOVED) Etienne. This book is definitely squeal worthy and I was gasping and awing thru the whole thing. I went thru a roller coaster of emotions reading this book. I loved the simple writing and at almost 400 pages, I felt like I flew thru the book in no time. I recommend this book to anybody who loves a good romance novel or anybody who wants to try something new. I would think this book is for a 14+ crowd (there is mild swearing and some drinking)   :) Happy reading!
