Saturday, January 31, 2009 Authors! Get On The Book Trailer Video Bandwagon!
If you've written a book then you know the importance (not to mention the difficulty!) of reaching the masses of potential readers. One excellent way to do that is to have Linka book trailer video doing the work for you. As an author myself, I know how true this is.
My name is Gary Val Tenuta. In addition to being a writer I'm also a graphics illustrator with more than 15 years in the graphics business. So I took that talent and skill and created a book trailer for my novel, The Ezekiel Code, posted it on YouTube, MySpace and elsewhere on the net and it has generated thousands of hits to my book's official website in just a short time! It continues to generate hits day after day and will continue to do so as long as the video remains posted! And that could be forever! And it's FREE! Unlike paying a fortune for placement of a one-time static ad in a magazine or a newspaper that gets tossed away after reading, the book trailer video is like the Energizer Bunny, it just keeps on going...and going...
Realizing what a great marketing tool this is I decided to branch out and create video trailers for other authors so they can have the same advantage. I'm charging less than many other book trailer producers. If you're interested in having a video made to promote your book, please visit my web page where you can get all the details and see samples of my work:
Here is a trailer I created recently for Lila L. Pinord, author of Min's Monster:
Still wondering if it's a good idea?
Let's see what the experts are saying:
In an article from CBC News (July, 2006), Steve Osgood (of HarperCollins Publishing) said about book trailer videos:
Osgoode reports that consumer interest in them "has far, far exceeded what we expected." Moreover, the viral marketing online is paying dividends, he says; retailers have increased orders for recent HarperCollins titles..."
