Beauty surrounds us

I am truly blessed. In my mind's eye, I see beauty in everything. Although beauty is subjective and must be shared through the written word, the artists brush or glimpses through a camera’s lens.

I find beauty in everything around me. Today I had a realization of the omnipresence of the sky. The light hues of gray in the predawn sky bring promises of the day to come. As I start to think of what will happen in the near present day the sky bursts into shades of pink and soft gradations of fiery reds as the sun breaks through the horizon. The sun starts to climb an ever so slow ascent and the sky becomes a brilliant blue propping up clouds, puffs of white and a blue gray that can never be accurately described because the color and shapes change as quickly as your eye can focus. When the sun reaches its apex the sky is full, a ceiling over our visible world, that is at the same time deep blue and clear, a veil which has been placed in such a way as to keep us from seeing the dark emptiness of space.
On the sun's ever so slow descent, the sky fades into a pale gray blue until the sun has reached its opposite horizon. As the sun seems to hesitate on the horizon before slowly sinking out of site, the sky dulls from its pale blue into brilliant yellows which seem to burst into flames as the sun disappears like a coin being dropped into a slot.
After the sky can no longer hold those brilliant yellow and orange hues, it slips into violets and deep purples, our signal that the day has gone, the warm black blanket of night has now covered us with soft twinkling starlight as a background to ease us into sleep, oh yes, I see beauty in the sky.
