I am not sure what got me into this series but I just loved it! I thought that it was great. It was a little much regarding all of the history and the story lines, but it was great. I am going to continue to read the series and see what happens. It was about vampires- surprise, I know- and it was nice not having it all be about blood and gore. It is interesting to hear something different then what all of the mainstream stories have to say. I would recommend this book for sure!

From the back cover:

Schuyler thought: aneurysm, heart attack, diabetic seizure. There are so many things tha tcould cause a person's untimely demise. She'd read about them. She knew. She'd lost her father in her infancy, and her mother was stuck in a coma. Life was more fragile than anyone ever realized.

One minutes, you could be getting a smoke in the ally
