So, I just bought a shit ton of books online and am so stolked about them.
Thought I'd post just some of the books I have. I already had started doing this before I joined this site, so from now on I'll just post new blogs about the books I'm reading.
Since I'm in Pasadena, I don't have all my books with me, but come this
Summer I'll have the rest with me to add to this=] Also, I have color coded this; Authors are in Blue and Titles are in Purple if I have read them and Red if I haven't. The summaries I have put thus far (from the backs of the books) are Pink and and the reviews I already included are Green.
Angels and Demons
World-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a

underground organization--the Illuminati. Desperate to save the Vatican

concealed for centuries... unveiled at last.
The Lost Symbol
Summary: In this stunning follow-up to the global phenomenon The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown demonstrates once again why he is the world’s most popular thriller writer. The Lost Symbol
is a masterstroke of storytelling–a deadly race through a real-world
labyrinth of codes, secrets, and unseen truths . . . all under the
watchful eye of Brown’s most terrifying villain to date. Set within the
hidden chambers, tunnels, and temples of Washington, D.C., The Lost Symbol accelerates through a startling landscape toward an unthinkable finale.
As the story opens, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned
unexpectedly to deliver an evening lecture in the U.S. Capitol
Building. Within minutes of his arrival, however, the night takes a
bizarre turn. A disturbing object–artfully encoded with five symbols–is
discovered in the Capitol Building. Langdon recognizes the object as an
ancient invitation . . . one meant to usher its recipient into a
long-lost world of esoteric wisdom. When Langdon’s beloved mentor,
Peter Solomon–a prominent Mason and philanthropist–is brutally
kidnapped, Langdon realizes his only hope of saving Peter is to accept
this mystical invitation and follow wherever it leads him. Langdon is
instantly plunged into a clandestine world of Masonic secrets, hidden
history, and never-before-seen locations–all of which seem to be
dragging him toward a single, inconceivable truth.Deception Point

Dead Until Dark
Sookie Stackhouse is a small-time cocktail waitress in small-town
Louisiana. She's quiet, keeps to herself, and doesn't get out much. Not
because she's not pretty. She is. It's just that, well, Sookie has this
sort of "disability." She can read minds. And that doesn't make her too
datable. And then along comes Bill. He's tall, dark, handsome--and
Sookie can't hear a word he's thinking. He's exactly the type of guy
she's been waiting for all her life...
But Bill has a
disability of his own: He's a vampire with a bad reputation. He hangs
with a seriously creepy crowd, all suspected of--big surprise--murder.
And when one of Sookie's coworkers is killed, she fears she's next...
Oh my goodness! I could not put this damn book down. It is not that big
of a book, about 300 pages, but I finished it in two days!
Sookie's character in the book is kind of different from the show, but
I still heard whats-her-face when I read the book. The same goes for
our sexy, vampire heartthrob, Bill Compton. I tend to think about the
actor and actress and imagine them going though all this crazy stuff in
I was very surprised to see so much of what I have
seen in the show, but compounded in such a small amount of... time? I
suppose that would be the word to use. Also something that may shock
those who are familiar with the show is the lack of certain characters
and their roles. Though I know that those characters are in the show to
help stretch it as much as they possibly can, so whatever.
To make a long story short, the book was beyond interesting and I am so excited to start Living Dead in Dallas!
Living Dead in Dallas
Summary: Cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse is on a streak of bad luck. First,
her coworker is murdered and no one seems to care. Then she’s
face-to-face with a beastly creature that gives her a painful and
poisonous lashing. Enter the vampires, who graciously suck the poison
from her veins (like they didn’t enjoy it).
Point is, they saved her life. So when one of the blood-suckers asks
for a favor, she complies. And soon, Sookie’s in Dallas using her
telepathic skills to search for a missing vampire. She’s suppose to
interview certain humans involved. There’s just one condition: The
vampires must promise to behave--and let the humans go unharmed.
Easier said than done. All it takes is one delicious blond and one
small mistake for things to turn deadly...Club Dead
Summary: There's only one vampire Sookie Stackhouse is involved with - at
least voluntarily - and that's Bill. But recently he's been a little
distant - in another state distant. His sinister and sexy boss, Eric,
has an idea where to find him, and next thing Sookie knows she's off to
Jackson, Mississippi, to mingle with the underworld at Club Dead.
It's a dangerous little haunt where the elusive vampire society can go
to chill out and suck down some Type O - but when Sookie finally finds
Bill caught in an act of serious betrayal, she's not sure whether to
save him or to sharpen some stakes.
