Awareness Wednesday
Awareness Wednesday is hosted by
Diamond Potential, a marvellous blog I found last weekend at my weekend
blog hop! I immediately wanted to link up to this fabulous linky as there are a few causes which demand attention, that are also dear to my heart.
The cause I'm supporting this week is
Adult Survivors of Child Abuse.
It's a personal cause of mine, as you may have learned when I supported the
Blog Carnival of the same name, on the 26th January.
The thing is, it's not a rare phenomena. It's not always committed by dad's and siblings, nor strangers in macs. It's everywhere - neighbours, friends, baby sitters, teachers, priests, social workers, doctors and nurses: Everywhere!! Most of the 'survivors' live half-lives, dissociated from the part of them which is young and scared, and impossible to heal and integrate. As I do.... Even now. Proceed to my
blog for the rest of this article incluing a poem and flash fiction story - both are powerfully shocking I'm told.
