On Friday, I went to the New York Comic Con conference on February. I spent five hours walking around the floor of the Jacob Javits Center. The conference was completely packed with people. The show itself was sold out. I had to wait an hour to get in in the professionals line. The conference itself was very nice. I got to visit many of the publishers, Dark Horse, DC, Del Rey Manga, Tokyopop, Top Shelf, NBM, and others. This was a chance to see what was coming out in the forthcoming year. They are going to produce a new League of Extraordinary Gentlemen novel, 1901 in the United States. I am looking forward to it. There is also going to be a live action Dragon Ball Z film with Jet Li. That should be very interesting.

On Monday, I am going to the O'Reilly Tools of Change Conference on February 9, 2009. This was made possible by Joe Wikert's Publishing 2020 Blog. This looks to be a really fascinating conference. I hope I learn a huge amount about online publishing. Electronic ink is changing the world of ebook readers. Also blogs have exploded onto the scene as a source for reviewing books and publishing. I am very interested in the changes coming in the publishing world. I am trying to figure out how this will effect libraries.

I also plan on going to the Book Expo America on May 29-31 at the Jacob Javits Center. I really look forward to seeing all of the new books which are coming out as well as the future trends in publishing.

Today is an excellent ady to think about conferences.
