Discovering Graphic Novels

I found a new love and it's called the graphic novel. I walked into a really cool bookstore in Dubai that had a wide selection of books, which is rare. I had a desire to discover a new genre. So I passed by the graphic novels section, which was one of the largest I've ever seen. I was fascinated with the choice and types of graphic novels they had. Before that day, I assumed most graphic novels were an extended version of comics. I soon realized that they were not all that way.

To cut to the chase, you should check out Blankets by Craig Thompson. It's mostly dramatic but realistic and wonderfully put together. There is a purity in the characters that is intriguing.
