Ever Wonder What "The Hole Story" Really Is? Why Not Ask Ruthie Darling; She Wrote the Book!

Children's Book Review 2009; "The Hole Story" by Ruthie Darling

As parents it's often hard to find a Children's Book which really makes our children think, one which opens their minds and imagination and really gets those neurons firing. There are so many children's books on the market that really are not so great, and some are on the shelves because of the author's stardom or the author's connections into the publishing business. Still, as parents we know the difference, and yes, I think our kids do too.

In fact, not long ago I read a wonderful Children's book, that was delightfully illustrated and well, it really hit home. This book was such a simple book, but it had such a powerful message and one that provokes thought, and helps our children understand our realm. The book is called;

"The Hole Story" by Ruthie Darling and illustrated by Tricia Cottengaim; ARK Publishers, Palm Desert CA, 2009. ISBN: 978-0-578-03061-6.

Without giving away the whole story here, I'd like to explain to the parents buying this awesome book that it will help your child understand and comprehend the visual and spatial world around them. The author, Ruthie Darling, really knows her stuff too. In a recent interview, I barraged her with questions about the story, and how it could make such a great impact on our kids; she never missed a beat. She definitely knows her stuff.

The author is not new to Children's Books and has over 55 stories just waiting to be told, and one-by-one she is producing great books for all of us. This book especially hit my fancy due the simple plot and message, along with the brilliant way it makes you think. I am sure you'll enjoy all of Ruthie's children's books, and I recommend that you start with this one. And I must admit, it certainly made me think.

Lance Winslow loves great authors and enjoys doing book reviews and recommending the best children's books of they year; http://www.ruthiedarling.com/
