Chapter Two part four

We traced our path straight to the cottage road, which looked different in clouded daylight. No one said a word, and the radio was off. It was a quiet ride down the dirt trail. A landing to the right opened up, and was littered in wood debris. Marie had said the cottage was destroyed. More like it disappeared. Miss Lynn stopped the car and got out. Marie and I mirrored her. “Okay, so we’ll leave the car here. You tell Leon what to expect. I’ll be right back.” She walked off into the wood line and vanished
from view. Marie looked curious, but shook her head as if to say it wasn’t worth following. “Alright, Leon. We’re going through a portal. What it is is a pathway to the very end of this galaxy into the next. It’s sort of like a current in the ocean. It’s fast and violent and can be very dangerous. Expect portals go through space and time. So it’s going to be really, really rough for you since your mortal. The portal itself will protect you from the vacuum of space, but it’s still a rough ride. You’ll have to hold on to me tight, or you’ll fly out and die from the lack of oxygen and the pressure of space. You ok with that so far?” Marie said. “That sounds scary.” I commented. “Oh it is. But you’ll love it later. It’s like a roller coaster, you know, it’s scary at first but then you want to ride again and again. Except this one is a lot faster and violent.” The leaves rustled and Miss Lynn came back into view. “What’s that Mom?” Miss Lynn was holding a small, heart shaped box. “It’s something your father hid out there in those woods. I just wanted to grab it since the cottage is gone and all. You two go ahead on. I’m going to cover the car up and I’ll meet you there.” She said. She walked past us over to the car. I looked at Marie and she smiled. God she is so beautiful. Compared to the girls at my school, well that’s just it. They can’t compare. She took a few steps and seemed to hug me. “Brace yourself. Hold onto me tight.” I held onto her by her midsection, right above the waist. She wasn’t all that taller than me, but before I knew it she was Silvercat and was in boots that made her my height. Her eyes were a piecing silver color that glowed. And just like last night when I fell her face was once again very close to mine. She hugged me tighter and that’s when I felt it.

(Sorry i made this one short, but i wanted to leave it right there, and then the next one pick it back up. You'll see. )
