Please bear with me as I'm learning as I go here. I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself to Book Blogs world. I'm a 32 year old Mom of two who has recently dipped my toe into the world of publishing. My first book, Convergence, was my first attempt at writing something original after spending a couple of years playing around with other people's characters and posting online in forums devoted to these kinds of works. The time I spent doing that was priceless as it helped so much with developing my writing, further emphasizing the old adage with me, Practice makes perfect...well maybe not perfect, but certainly better!
The site I was working with was holding an original fiction contest, so I entered the first few chapters of Converence into the Young Adult category and ended up winning a publishing contract with them. Convergence, the first of three books in a series I call the Children of Creation Series, released in December 2010. I'm currently working on the second book, Induction, due out in September of this year. As of last night I found myself excited because I am quickly reaching the end with six weeks left before the manuscript is due to my editor. :) The third book to complete the series is scheduled for an August 2012 release.
I already have some websites/blogs in place, so if you want to learn more, please feel free to check them out, follow them, friend them, etc!

Congratulations on being published. What a huge feat, with two kids and
the book world trying to figure out what it is these days :)
