How to manually load e-books onto your reader/device

Most consumers purchase digital content that is automatically downloaded to their mobile device/tablet/e-reader from websites like Amazon.com, iTunes, and Barnesandnoble.com. While this is extremely convenient, it is still important to know how to manually load content to a device (sideload). Many websites that provide digital downloads (like this one) are not able to automatically send the content to your device. Knowing how to sideload content will help you become more familiar with how to use your device and enjoy your e-books.
