Last April we (Friends of the East Orange Library) held our first "Romance Symposium and Book Signing." It was extremely successful thanks to authors Donna Hill and Gwyneth Bolton. Donna Hill's name is known far and wide and everyone was excited that she would be one of the authors to grace our library. Gwyneth is a new up and coming author who has found a large x-generation audience. It was a good mix. Donna Hill was as nice (and generous) as I remembered her to be almost 15 years ago.

Hill is the author who turned me on to African American romance novels and I am forever grateful. Because of her, my circle of reading widened, I discovered authors I never would known about or read. Well it is that time of year again and I am expected to make magic once more. I am reaching out to my Yahoo book group members and hoping to come up with another winner.
