Today, Milford Bateman, author of the new release Confronting Microfinance, spoke against microfinance defender David Roodman at USAID. The debate lasted two hours following the question: If microfinance has not achieved its objective in substantially reducing poverty, what are the pathways to financial inclusion that will contribute to this objective?
