I was at my favorite bookstore "Gottewals Books" and I bought two books. One is the Stephen Baldwin book "The Unusual Suspect" and the other is an Alice Hoffman book titled "Second Nature". I am notorious for reading more than one book at a time and so I began reading Mr. Balwin's book first but later picked up the Hoffman book. I noticed sheet of paper at the front of the book. It was a letter from Ms. Hoffman's Editor, Faith Sale. The letter is dated February 1, 1994 and it is congratulating the Bookseller who they have sent this particular book to. In the letter she notes that G.P. Putnam's Sons have been working with Ms. Hoffman for 15 years and to commemorate that anniversary the book has been signed! Sure enough I look at the page before the title page and there is her signature. I love it! I feel so luck. It would have made my day if the Baldwin book had been autographed too. It wasn't but maybe that just means that I will run into Mr. Baldwin someday and he will sign the book if I decide to keep it. I often trade books in at Gottewals but I do have to say, that the Hoffman book will not be traded in! I just love books, don't you?

With the luck of the Irish (Even though I am not Irish)
