EL James is a TV executive, wife, and mother of two, based in West London. Since early childhood, she dreamt of writing stories that readers would fall in love with. As a kid writing stories in class, she often had her's read out loud by the teacher. The tales often included her friends and she loved the response of her classmates to the stories. However, her writing ambitions were put on hold while she focused on her family and her career. She is now at the point in life that she would like to recapture the joy of storytelling she had experienced as a child. She finally plucked up the courage to put pen to paper with her first novel, Fifty Shades of Grey.

EL James is currently working on the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey and a new romantic thriller with a supernatural twist.
