My New Book Soon To Be Released
Currently I am busy working on a deadline for my complete manuscript "A Stinky Surprise for Jake the Snake." I have signed another contract with Publish America for this second release and my current deadline is August 13 :) This week, I'm busy busy busy with revisions, punctuation checks, proofreading, and meeting with my illustrator and creative inspiration Collen Konieczny :)
Colleen Konieczny, a very talented illustrator from southwestern PA, will be illustrating this second book. She also illustrated my first book "Jake the Snake and the Stupid Time-Out Chair." When I first saw the sketches for the first book, I knew that Colleen was the perfect illustrator. Her illustrations were EXACTLY what I imagined (but could not draw) as I wrote the book. Colleen is a freelance illustrator. She is also the founder and artisan of Pennsylvania Barn Quilts, a historical trail of barn quilts across Pennsylvania. Colleen has also created quilts for homes. These lovely quilt block patterns can be custom designed from a favorite pattern of your own and displayed on your home; similar to the popular primitive stars that people display, but instead quilt blocks that are attached to sentimental value and beauty. "Jake the Snake is having the “worstest” year of his whole entire life. With an “all day kind of school,” a scary school nurse, a new first grade teacher, plus a stinky new baby; how could things get any worse? All Jake the Snake wants is a shiny new bicycle. Except Mom is too busy decorating for the stinky baby to go shopping for a snazzy bike with dangly streamers. When Jake the Snake barfs all over the clean floor on the first day of school and has to visit scary Nurse Pickadilly, he is sure life couldn’t get any worse. That is, until Grandma Nelson announces that Mom and Dad have gone to the hospital to get the stinky baby!
