Zara's life had just broken apart. Firstly, her stepfather died. Zara's mother became depressed over his death and Zara appeared more like a zombie than a normal teenage girl. This freaked Zara's mother who finally decided to send Zara away for her own good.Seondly, Zara was made to move from Charleston to Maine to live with her grandmother, Betty. Thirdly, Zara thinks that she is being stalked in Charleston. But she was certain that the maniac stalker had horrible things in mind when she saw the very same stalker in Maine.
Zara began to get used to her life with Betty in Maine. She can't stand the cold and she couldn't continue her passion in running. She had managed to piss off one of the girl in the popular cliques in school, Magan Crowley. Then she found interest in a cute boy, Nick Colt, but her new found over-achieving friend, Ian told her that the well-muscular boy was bad news.
What makes it worst was that Zara had just found out that her stalker was a fairy. Not those beautiful innocent fairies in fairy tales, but sly fairies disguised as humans with dangerous intensions. Zara also discover unbelievable facts and secrets that her new-found friends hid. In Maine, Zara doesn't feel very safe anymore. The fairies wants something from her and Zara had to race against time to find out what it is. With Nick by her side, Zara uncovers the world of the supernatural.
Need is a supernatural novel that revealed the dangerous world of fairies and creatures beyong human's imaginations. Zara is quite a special character who had much too many phobias to deal with. In this exciting novel, Zara had to uncover her relations with the fairy world and finding trust in people around her. Every chapter starts with a phobia that Zara deals with, which made the book even more special. Readers could pick up names of phobias on the way while following Zara's chase for survival. The sequel to Need would be out in January 2010.
