News and status: Official reviewer for two zines and a blog along with other news
Been a bit since I had a chance to post here. I have been invited to be an official reviewer for two 'zines that focus on fantasy, steampunk, horror, dark fantasy, urban fantasy and paranormal. I have also been invited to start posting reviews of any books I read on an official blog for a zine/publisher. Nice. I am all about spreading the book love. The 'zines also post interviews with various authors ranging from Lilith Saintcrow to other urban fantasy authors and the zines post free short stories for readers to enjoy. The first zine is www.dropsofcrimson.com and the second one is www.threecrowpress.com

I am still doing reviews or "thoughts" on various books at http://shartyrant.livejournal.com. Been very busy lately with reading so much I had to slow down on even that as I have started picking up other genres to review there including mystery, thriller, action adventure, fantasy, paranormal romance, sci-fi and more. I plan on submitting a few more reviews to the zines I am required to and then x-posting like mad at goodreads.com and shelfari.com as well as the main book sellers at amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com and booksamillion.com so that is why I have been picking up posting here as I plan to do the same here again now that I have the time. All this just to get the news out of various books, book news and contests out to friends and other readers. It is an addiction. One that I am happy to share.
So what am I reading right now? I just finished On The Edge by Ilona Andrews (ARC) which is due out Sept. 30th which I enjoyed as it is a lighter series than her popular Kate Daniel series. Recommend it for those who like a good blend of romantic paranormal contemporary fantasy/urban fantasy. Then I am finishing up Must Love Hellhounds anthology by Ilona Andrews, Nalini Singh, Charlaine Harris, and Meljean Brooks. I am finally able to devour John Scalzi's Old Man's War now that my husband finally finished it (he stole it when I first got it...argh!) and I have a few YA (young adult paranormals) that I am just starting including The Vampire Diaries: the fifth one in the series and re-reading Silver Phoenix by Cindy Pon. I am trying to wait for the library to get The Doomsday Key by James Rollins, but I might have to break down and buy it as I am impatient to get to it.
So that is just what I have been working on so far or just finished. I just submitted a review for Hunting Grounds by Patricia Briggs (Alpha and Omega #2) which is a spin-off title from her popular Mercy Thompson series to one of the 'zines. I am finishing up the review on One The Edge which I am x-posting every where I can think of before starting on the rest.
But that is it so far. Feel free to friend me and I ALWAYS welcome any book recommendations.
