For years, I was forced to listen to songs from Barney, the purple dinosaur, The Wiggles, and Kids' Bop. But thank goodness, all of that is in the past.
My daughter has played her new copy of the album about a dozen times a day since it arrived in the mail, and in that time I've grown to love it. The music ranges from Celtic (like the Dropkick Murphys) to a harsher sound that is reminiscent of Blizten Trapper. At times, the CD can even sound like the soundtrack of an epic movie. Yet, somehow, it all works.
Their cover art for the album has a moody, Gothic feel and their singers dress like vampires. I mean, who doesn't love top hats, long hair, wicked beards, and fierce leather coats?
So thanks to my daughter for finding this group and giving me something new to put on my iPod.
You can read the entire review and listen to some Nightwish music at my blog,21st Century Writer.
