She's got an eye for gossip.
Serena Nelson is deaf. She can read lips. Recently, she had unwillingly moved house to be nearer to her relatives according to her parents. They hope that their decision would allow her to fit in. Unfortunately, she found out that things might go the exact opposite. The school was teeming with cheerleaders but not even a single skater chick like her in view. Then she saw Miller, a hot guy that send her an electrifying gaze the moment she locked eyes with him. He was the only one who knew and understood her. Now, she was even more determined to fit in.
Then, the unpredicted happened. She had been accepted as a special girl for her ability to read people's lips. Her new popular friends want her to read lips and give them the newest scoop. Unfortunately, her lip-reading skills had caused trouble to others by spreading the truth. She wanted to stop, but popularity was already a stone's throw away. All she had to do was to keep up the act and probably she could finally fit in like her parents had said.
On the other hand, Miller had not approved of her friendship with the popular girls. He hated them and rumours were that he was hot-tempered and liked to fight. Actually, he didn't bother fitting in at all. However, as Serena rose in popularity, she found that the distance between her and Miller was growing larger. Would he despise her for wanting to fit in? Or would Serena be willing to give up fame for a simple long-lasting relationship?
An interesting book on the importance of believing others. Fame might not be necessary for one to fit in and it might even ruin oneself. A great book for a random quick read!
