It's been months since Aria last saw Perry. Months since Perry was named Blood Lord of the Tides, and Aria was charged with an impossible mission. Now, finally, they are about to be reunited. But their reunion is far from perfect. The Tides don't take kindly to Aria, a former Dweller. And with the worsening Aether storms threatening the tribe's precarious existence, Aria begins to fear that leaving Perry behind might be the only way to save them both.

Threatened by false friends, hidden enemies, and powerful temptations, Aria and Perry wonder, Can their love survive through the ever night?

In this second book in her spellbinding Under the Never Sky trilogy, Veronica Rossi combines fantasy and dystopian elements to create a captivating love story as perilous as it is unforgettable.

This roller coaster novel left my stomach back in chapter two. What a rush! It is with extreme pleasure that I can announce that this second installment outshines its predecessor. With unexpected twists, wicked turns, heart wrenching dips and soul searing highs, THROUGH THE EVER NIGHT surpasses the title of sequel and enters the realm of Mind. Blowing. Goodness. Just think: a sequel with character development AND plot progression. Amazing.

What I find so incredible about Rossi's writing is her ability to create sympathetic, tangible characters in an unrelateable world. I can't relate to an apocalyptic world, living my life in huts or using a eye patch to mentally exist in electronic realms. It's the brilliantly crafted characters and their dynamic relationships that suck me in like a black hole. There is just no escaping the feelings Rossi saturates the reader with. How she is able to produce such feelings of nerve wracking fear, heart pumping anger, soulful passion, biting humor and gut wrenching despair confounds my brain. I'm literally blown away by the richness and depth. Can I just say a thank you to Rossi for producing a relationship between Aria and Perry that is realistic. It's not over the top fantastic or overly dramatic. They have doubts. They get confused. They get tempted. But they hang in there and fight for it. I don't want to give anything away but I can assure you that I was yelling at my book and almost threw it across the room several times. Then I would reach for my tissues and bite what was left of my nails. Any writing that can cause that kind of reaction should win an award. Preferably several.

Roar gets a strong spotlight in this second novel and I fell in love with his character. He's not just the loyal hot guy with the sharp wit. Thank God Rossi doesn't go down the standard "guys and girls can't be JUST friends" YA route and keeps his relationship with Aria just that. Friends. How Refreshing. I wish more authors would realize we don't need everyone falling in love with everyone.

There are a lot of secrets revealed and some of them are shocking... and some are expected. All are entertaining. There were a few slow moments that could have been polished, but it was outstanding overall. The UNDER THE NEVER SKY Series is becoming one of my all time favorite series and one I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed with. Rich, surprising and with a good to the last syllable ending, THROUGH THE EVER NIGHT will leave you breathless and completely satisfied. Watch for the final installment of the trilogy, INTO THE STILL BLUE to hit shelves in 2014.
