Ethan has a double life. He was not just any normal teenage schoolboy. He was the named, people destined to be Guardians of Time, the Guard in short. The Guard had existed basically because of the Order of Chaos. The Order travelled back in time to alter the past which would allow their leader, the Goddes of Chaos, to reign supreme. All the Guard simply had to do was to stop them.

Ethan had been trained since five by Arkarian. He sneaked to the forest to meet his trainer secretly every now and then. It was a comfort for him to know that he didn't have to go home everyday to see his worn-out parents. His family was once happy and joyful, until the death of his sister arrived. Then, home was the last place he wanted to be in.

Arkarian had recently promoted Ethan and he would appoint him a new apprentice to train. Ethan was dismayed to know that it was the girl whose sister was of his once best friend, Matt. Isabel was nothing but trouble for him. But he had to fulfill his responsibilities. Even if it meant to face Matt again. Ethan was more and more surprised to know the secrets that the people around him kept. Anyone could be a member of the Guard or even worst, the Order. He had to keep up his act. Or his life would be at stake.

An all time terrific book. It is the first in the Guardians of Time trilogy and its storyline was so interesting! I liked the combination of love, magic and responsibility of the named. I seriously liked Ethan. And the suspence of whether the Prophecy would occur was overwhelming. Hugely recommended to guys and those who are Harry Potter fans!
