Using Kickstarter to Offset Self-Publishing Costs

A lot of self-published writers are turning to crowd-funding sites to raise the money they need for professional services or to offset other costs associated with self-publishing a book.  Among the many sites out there, I had decided, a few months back, to try Kickstarter.com and raise the money I needed for a high-end editor.

I spent a lot of time comparing successfully funded campaigns against those that failed and found that two things matter most; presentation and motivation.  Sharing your story with readers and getting the message out in a creative way was half the battle.

My project is among those successfully funded through the site, and I thought I'd post the video that helped me get the message out. I hope you enjoy the example and browse through Kickstarter.com for other ideas.
