I was delighted when I won a copy of The Fox Inheritance, Book #2 in bestselling author Mary E. Pearson’s futuristic YA series The Jenna Fox Chronicles. I had read excellent things about this series and wanted to check it out. I was a bit apprehensive since I hadn’t read Book #1 but The Fox Inheritance works well as a stand-alone novel. This is an excellent YA novel! Adults will like this as much as teens do. I’m looking forward to passing my win forward to one lucky reader!
Three close high school friends, Jenna, Kara and Locke, decided to secretly go to a party and took one of their parents’ cars even though none of them could drive very well. When they crashed the car, all of their bodies were injured beyond repair but the content of each of their brains was stored in small black cubes, although they had no way to know that was what happened. At first Locke could hear Jenna and Kara screaming, and then Jenna’s voice faded away and all he could hear was Kara. Kara and Locke kept each other company telepathically in the vast, endless, empty darkness. Fast forward 260 years.
