Thanks for the welcome! And I'm glad you like my blog. I decided nearly a year ago that I wanted to read all the Newbery medal books, and only just recently got around to setting up a blog to write reviews about them.

Why children's books? Well, they're often fun, whimsical, and are usually written in a tight, straightforward way. Old favorites can also bring back fond memories.

Now, I'm off to read some of your archives!

Thanks Jenny, for your comments. I'm having fun trying to find new books to read and writing about my older favorites. I used to work as a social worker in foster care (for about three years) but for the last three years I've been with hospice. It's interesting where life takes us. I checked out your blog and I can't believe how much you're able to read with work and school! That's amazing.

I can't get into too many specifics but it is a shelter setting that children come to in a crisis and stay with us. I work a few nights and care for them during their bedtime. It's absolutely rewarding and challenging all at the same time. Just like being a parent. :) Children and Books are 2 of my passions.
