Hi,

My name is Chris Tusa, and I'm a writer from New Orleans. I am writing because my debut novel, Dirty Little Angels, is now available, and I was hoping you might be willing to mention it on your blog (or review it). If you're interested, I'd be glad to send you an e-book version of the book. Just let me know. I've included a summary of the novel below:

Dirty Little Angels
Set in the slums of New Orleans, among clusters of crack houses and abandoned buildings, Dirty Little Angels is the story of sixteen year old Hailey Trosclair. When the Trosclair family suffers a string of financial hardships and a miscarriage, Hailey finds herself looking to God to save her family. When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses's lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church. Gradually, though, Moses's twisted religious beliefs become increasingly more violent, and Hailey and Cyrus soon find themselves trapped in a world of danger and fear from which there may be no escape.

If you'd like to read the first chapter before you commit, feel free to visit my web site:

Thanks so much,
Chris

Becky, thanks for adding me as a friend. I love librarians - the librarians in Santa Monica CA save me one very lonely summer, and left me entering libraries the way I think some people enter churches.

And I LOVED Madapple. I was surprised it was packaged as YA rather than adult. I do think it should appeal to teens, but I think it's an even better read for adults.

Thank you for adding me, Becky! I grew up in Sutherland, Iowa - not far from Orange City! I still go back the area every month to see my family.

Thanks, Becky, for adding me as a friend. You have my dream job. I completed my Masters in Library Science two years ago, but I'm still looking for a job. Of course, there is a glitch. The program I completed is not ALA, so I'm certified for schools but not necessarily for public libraries. I'm disappointed in that, because I love young adult literature and teens. I'm still hoping to find an opening in a high school. I wanted to mention what a beautiful family you have, too. I look forward to communicating with you.

Hi Becky

I was a reference librarian for many years. I loved helping people find information. I try to continue that with my blog site.

Thanks for the invite, Becky (especially after my inauspicious beginning... :-)) I'm delighted I've piqued your interest in my book, and look forward to hearing your reactions: Hey, I'm the J.K. Rowling of Bulloch County, Georgia. :-)
Sorry that I won't have much to say about, well, my reading--I have a tough time reading novels while writing one, and I'm working on book 2 right now...Mind you, I have to read lots of non-fiction for background, history specifically. Ask me anything you like about what it meant to be a miner in England's Black Country in 1851... I now know more about that than I ever wanted to... :-)
